My Plan For The Remaining Sundays in July

Each week, I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to write Sunday In Advance as a way of helping the people of LifePoint make the most of the Lord’s Day.

But as a human being, I have limitations. And I believe God is calling me to take brief respite from the weekly grind of writing in order to embrace those limitations. Through this, I pray that I’ll be profoundly reminded that Jesus is LifePoint’s Messiah, not me or anyone else. That’s really what rest does, isn’t it? It reminds us that God is God and we are not. The church will continue to be built up to worship God faithfully in the absence of my weekly writing. And there’s immense freedom to be found in that reality.

Therefore, I am taking a three-week hiatus from writing Sunday In Advance. I’ll return to my usual posting schedule the first week in August.

Oh, and one more thing…

Below I’m including videos of two songs we plan to teach over the next three weeks. I realize two songs in three weeks is a lot. But I think we can handle it. And I believe these songs will serve us well in the coming months as we sacrifice, serve and surrender to Jesus for the advancement of His Kingdom reign in our city and far beyond. Enjoy!

My Life Is An Offering by Sovereign Grace Music | BUY THE SONG

This life is an altar
Where I want to offer
My soul, and my mind, and strength
Cleansed by Your mercy to live a life worthy
Of the One Who called my name

Jesus, be glorified
Jesus, be magnified
Let me be a pleasing sacrifice
Jesus, be glorified
Jesus, be magnified
Here on the altar
My life is an offering

How could I not love You?
You authored my rescue
Raised me up from death to life
Your Spirit is in me, revealing Your glory
Oh what joy as I give my life

I choose to lose my life, Lord
And find it in You

Tyler, everyone needs to take a break sometimes. I’m glad you’re following God’s leading and doing so. Even the prophet Elijah had to take some time to rest in 1 Kings 19:4-8.
